Late in May was our first 2009 camping excursion. The tent my parents gave us a few Christmas' ago is a giant Cabin that seems a little luxurious, but we love it! We had a great time exploring and found a beautiful meadow. It was warm enough for Abigail to skinny dip in a nice little pool along the creek. The girls especially loved the warm food at night. We jazzed up their green beans and corn with wild onions that grew all around the campsite. The highlight for them was the little toilet Jeff built them with an old toilet seat - I wish I'd gotten a picture. The fun of "going" outside was brought to a new level!
We took a pre summer vacation camping trip last weekend. It was a great time to be up in the mountains together. The weather was misty with beautiful white thunder clouds moving through the sky. We stayed in a campground for once and actually had the whole place to ourselves. We took many little walks, threw rocks into the creek, found a frog, and played games in the tent to dry out. It was a yummy taste of summer.
